You may recall from this post and this post that I like to get my craft on. Since the focus of this blog is B&K (as their baby/childhood blog), my friend Jenn & I have decided to launch our own space to chat about our crafty inspirations. You know -- because two MoMs who work full-time and get to negotiate with 2.5 yr old toddlers have all kinds of free time to craft. Heh.
So check us out here:
And while you are there you may notice that I have also launched a little site to sell some of the knit goodies I've been making. Again, in my "free" time. I'll be adding stuff there as I can.
I will be posting one more crafty thing here though . . . I'm 95% sure I'm making B&K's Halloween costumes this year. So stay tuned for that . . .
Yeah, I know I'm lucky. Not only am I blessed with a funny-smart-cool husband and wicked genius-adorable children, but I also have AMAZING family who come help out whenever needed (or more like wanted).
Tim & I were out of town again last weekend (and before you go there . . . we won't have the kids again next weekend, either. Sure, go ahead - hate me). As Tim put it to some of our friends on Saturday -- for two people who never wanted children, we're pretty lucky to still live a shred of our old lives whenever we want. Not that we don't love B&K to pieces - AND WE DO! - but it is nice to get a sanity break {often}, especially as we are barely surviving the horrid toddler years.
It had been 2 years since we went back to South Bend for a ND game. TWO YEARS! And my how the campus has changed!! We had an amazing weather weekend to be there . . . in the 80s!!! And the best part of all -- Notre Dame won!!!
B&K held down the fort at home with Grandma & Grandpa Z. And they had a blast. HUGE thanks to G&G for come down - again - to hang with B&K.
I promise new pics of B&K soon (you know, when they actually sit still for a second). In the meantime, here are a few from our tailgate:
Me & Tim
Nana & Papa
Me & Tim's mom Debbie, who was celebrated NINE years as a breast cancer survivor last weekend. We love you, Nana Debbie!!
I've said it a gazillion times before. But my friend Jenn ROCKS!! Like the new look? I freaken love it -- and it is all thanks to her. She is wicked talented! :) Thanks Jenn!!
The weekend was full of fun activities. Saturday was mine & Tim's 6th anniversary, so we went out to celebrate (and BONUS -- Notre Dame gave us a victory for our big day! How nice!).
Sunday we spent the morning walking to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. The walk was on OSU's campus, which was nice. I've never really been around campus before, so that was cool. Of course B&K were more into walking themselves (or riding on Daddy's & Papa's shoulders or holding our hands), but I guess that helped keep them warm. Thanks to my friend Jenn for creating the team and our friends Alicia & Bryan for participating and raising a ton of funds for the team. We raised over $900. Bennett keeps talking about our "walk with friends". Too cute.

Stay tuned . . . I'm working on another big "what are they up to" type post with all sorts of goodies (hopefully). And my previously mentioned friend Jenn & I have been working on a fun craft thing I'm excited to share. She has also been kind enough to work on a new blog design for me (have I mentioned lately she rocks??). Hopefully we'll get this all launched soon. :)
Tim was out of town this weekend on a golfing trip with friends from work, so I set about to fill up the weekend with B&K as much as possible {esp because we were all getting over colds and I'm suspect that K is finally cutting the 2yr molars that B has almost had for a year. I'll save you all the gory details, but let's just say there has been a LOT of bi-polar D-R-A-M-A going on around here these days}.
My friends Jenn & Alicia and I decided to get together at a local apple orchard & pumpkin patch for some good old fashioned apple & pumpkin picking. B&K had never been apple picking and they had a blast. They literally ate their body weight in red apples. Yum!
Ok, prepare yourself for some major cuteness. At one point we were heading back towards an aisle where cars can drive through. Kendyll walked up to Keegan and grabbed his hand. They walked that way until they reached the end of the aisle (at which time she also grabbed Louden's hand, too). So fricken sweet.
At one point the kids were playing in some of the fruit crates.
On our way home, B&K ate yet another whole apple. The funny part is, B eats them from the top down. Core & all. (ewe!)
We also spent some time picking $1 pumpkins (I didn't snap as many pictures there, unfortunately). B&K love their pumpkins. I had them sitting on our ledge of the deck in back yesterday and every time they looked out or walked outside they would go up to the pumpkins, give them a kiss and say "love you, pumpkin". Unprompted. Hilarious.
Today we took a field trip to Target before Tim got home (funny story -- I told B&K not to tell daddy we went to Target and as soon as they saw him they both blurted out "Daddy, we went to TARGET!!"). We bought little sets to turn the pumpkins into a pirate and a witch. They love them even MORE now.
Or a blog! One of my main purposes of keeping this blog up for 2.5+ years is to document B&K's lives because I really don't seem to have the time to jot things down in a baby book. And I've known about sites where you can turn your blog INTO a book (genious, right?!), but again, I haven't found time to do it. (but I actually have sort of started to get things ready to do so). I digress . . . . one of my favorite blogs -- A Few of My Favorite Things -- is having an awesome giveaway right now. And I totally, really, really, really, really want to win it!!
