The newly turned 4 yr olds in our house had their annual well child appointment two weeks ago. I had heard rumors that there would be 4 shots and while I had not said anything to the wonder duo about them, the moment they stepped into the office Kendyll was all about asking everyone if they would be getting shots. Our dr waiting until the last minute to spring on them that they would indeed NOT be getting shots. Score for everyone!! They are both growing like weeks and nothing of note to be concerned about. I've updated their info on the sidebar. Yes, you read that correctly . . . Kendyll has packed on almost 10 lbs in the past year. Our tiny 4lb homegirl had grown into an appreciation of food. And while Bennett is a major string bean, his height (which is in the 90th percentile) in some ways is a culprit to his skinny, lean body. But he is on the charts and they both have their own growth curve, so all is good.
And with the weight {and height} growth, we finally moved them out of carseats and into booster seats in late Jan. They.are.loving.it. And mommy is loving finally using the built in booster seats in her car. Ha! B&K are all about being "big kids" these days. They one day randomly decided they no longer wanted the rails on their beds and so we took them off (and in the month or so they've had them off we've only had 2 occurrences of falling out of bed). Another change is we've purged almost all of the sippy cups in our house (but I will admit to keeping a couple straw ones . . . just for use in the carpet areas). B&K have been drinking out of big cups for a long time now, but my anal ways of keeping everything clean have lead us to use the straw / lid cups more often then not. And there has been a minor shift in maturity in other ways lately too. But I don't want to speak to soon about it for fear of jinxing us!
We have lots of other changes going on these days. We put our house on the market. And we just got back from vacation. But hopefully more on those another time. The weekend before we left for vacation we took the kids on a couple of big kid activities -- Kendyll had her first mani/pedi and Bennett went bowling {sorry for the crappy pictures . . . I hope to get a new cell phone this month, too!}.
