Ok, get ready for it. I was looking through our camera tonight and realized I had a TON of pictures on there that I need to get out here. So I'm hoping to get a few posts up this week. {but don't hold your breath}. First up, REAL pigtails on Kendyll!!! We thought her hair would NEVER get long enough. But I played around with it last weekend and low & behold, it goes up perfectly. So enjoy these pics of miss thang.
And speaking of miss "I'm working on my academy award nomination for most dramatic two year old" . . . we had quite a scary week with her last week. She and Bennett had been fighting a nasty cough for almost 2 weeks. Suddenly last week she spiked a fever over 103. And it stayed there overnight. A trip to the pedi's office resulted in a "slight pneumonia" and ear infection diagnosis. We had a bit more of a scare that afternoon (did you know pneumonia can cause your limbs to turn blue and you to shake uncontrollably from the fever? Yeah, neither did we). But thankfully Kendyll is totally on the mend . . . the super-duty antibiotics have kicked in hard core, thankfully! Here are B&K one night last week watching their new favorite movie, Monsters, Inc (or MONSTA!! MONSTA!! as they call it. They also beg for the little girl "BABY! BABY!" to come on the screen). And speaking of baby, see the little blond in Kendyll's arms? That is her new obsession, a gift from Anna, Ava & Alexis. She doesn't go ANYWHERE without Baby!

You know this "word explosion" in toddlers that everyone talks about? Yeah, well it is going down in our house right now. B&K are repeating everything these days, which makes for fun times. Especially when they are playing with a toy that says something . . . you hear the toy, then the babe repeat. Over & over & over & over & over again. Other fun things heard recently: - Last weekend Bennett was wearing a red & gray rugby shirt with a logo emblem on it. When he woke up from his nap he was pointing to it and saying (clear as day) "BUCKEYES" over & over & over again. Then when I said "O-H" he repeated "I-O" with a "go bucks" right after. Uh-oh!!! Tim has threatened to start docking A's pay (totally kidding!!). He recognizes the block O every where . . . on the TV, on stranger's coats & shirts -- both he & K can be heard screaming "Buckeyes" all the time. My dad & Aunt Kathy should be proud. {and note, we've started hard-core "Go Irish!!" training as well!}. - As soon as I posted a while back about B&K not saying my "name", they have quickly become pros at screaming for "MomEEE". My fav is when they are in their cribs and we hear them over the monitor:K - MomEE. MomEE. hi MomEEE!!!B - no MomEE. DadEE!! DadEE!!K - hi DadEEE!! - They also call Tabasco "baco" now. "Hi Baco". "Lay Down, Baco". "Bad dog!" are phrases heard often around here. - Kendyll can now say Bennett. Although it is more like "Ban-ette!". Yesterday morning she was SCREAMING his name while they were in their cribs. And I was trying to get them to come down the stairs one day (like herding cats, I tell you!) and I said "Bennett, come here!" and my mini-me said "Ban-ette, come here!". - They also LOVE to look for my brother, Mark. Who lives 2 hours away. If they hear his name, Bennett will start walking around the house: "Mark! Maaark!!! Where Mark?!?". Too cute.Sorry, no pictures today. I'll try to get some up soon!
Ugh. Between sickness, two car accidents (mine worse than Tim's) and couple other random things, 2010 isn't off to a super hot start. Add to it that we learned this week we have not one but TWO fricken ice dams on our house. Water was gushing into our master bedroom on Wednesday and leaking through to our kitchen. Water in the walls, coloring our granite, coming through the window and soaking our carpet. Ugh. After a dramatic effort by me & Tim (and later Tim & his dad) we were able to break up some of the ice in and hanging from our gutters the dripping seemed to stop. Then on Thursday we discovered a similar situation in our master closet. Water all over our clothes, shoes and again soaking the carpet. Yuck! Tim has pulled up the carpet in both areas and we've had a 40 degree day today which has helped melt some stuff. Needless to say, we have an insurance adjuster coming out on Tuesday. And he says he's been REALLY busy with similar claims in our area. Have I mentioned lately that I hate winter?!? As my friend Christy asked me this week -- yes, it is times like this that I really miss Huntington Beach, CA!To help ease that drama, we've been blessed with visits from friends bearing gifts for B&K's birthday this weekend. Totally unexpected, but so nice nonetheless! Yesterday Lauren & her husband came by to say "hi" and brought B&K two adorable retro FP toys. They haven't put them down. And today our good friends, the Thornhills, came over to play for a bit and they brought some goodies, too! This on top of all the loot B&K scored last week is putting them in new toy overload! It helps us to get through the rough winter days, though (see post snow post from earlier this month). :) I mentioned a while back that I've done a little updating to B&K's room. We aren't quite ready to move them to big kid beds (thanks to sleep sacks they haven't really tied to escape. Yet.). And when we do the big transition we plan to move them to their own rooms. I'm betting we'll probably do this sometime after our vacation this spring (because I don't want to start the whole potty training nightmare until they are in big beds). Ugh, that reminds me of another transition we're starting to look into, too . . . preschool. But I'll save that for another post. Anyhoo, we've "refreshed" B&K's room with a new tree/owl/bird theme. Fitting since when you look out their room it is like they are in a tree house with the two GIANT trees in our front yard right outside their room. Fun! I found B's stuff at Target (including most of the wall decals) and K's stuff came from PBK, but I actually bought them on ebay. Enjoy the pics!
