We'd like to wish a very Happy Happy Happy Birthday to our favorite triplets, Anna, Ava & Alexis! Today is their big first birthday!! We are so thankful to have met the Thornhill girls (I am especially as I've mentioned here SEVERAL times that I don't think I would have survived the many many long weeks of bedrest had it not been for me "meeting" their mommy, Marie, during that time. She was also stuck on bedrest and we tried very hard to keep each other sane).
We are looking forward to celebrating their big birthday with them this weekend!! You can wish them a happy birthday, too, by visiting here.

WHEW!!!!
Wow, it has been a crazy nuts past few days!!
First of all, we'd like to send a HUGE congratulations to Lauren & Mark! They were married in a lovely evening ceremony yesterday. Lauren looked beautiful, Mark was a stud and we had a fabulous time. My favorite moments were the dances . . . their first dance was to "Somewhere over the rainbow", the father daughter dance was to "Edelweiss" and the mother son dance was to "The Rainbow Connection". Totally classic!!
As a result of Lauren's impending honeymoon (we're so jealous . . . she is sunning it up on vacation right now), B & K are spending a few days with Nana & Papa and then a few days with Grandma & Grandpa. Which means that gives mommy & daddy 5 (yes FIVE!!) nights to live like they did pre-diaper baby days.
Friday night Tim rode up to meet his parents to do the kid swap. I, meanwhile was setting up and then shopping at my twins club semi-annual sale. Yep, that's right peeps -- it was TWIN SALE time again! Woo-hoo!! And man oh man -- it was HUGE! It was held at the same location again (three huge gymnasiums full of everything baby & kid related). Unlike last time I don't feel like I got any major scores, but I did purchase a lot of clothes for B&K for the spring & summer (all baby gap, old navy, gymboree & children's place -- I guess that is a score!). I only spent $95 and I had over $500 to sell, so I guess that is the exciting part this year. :)
Saturday I worked the twins sale. And let me tell you -- it was NUTS! We had over 900 people through the door in the first hour (which was the "power hour" in which people had to pay $2 to get in an hour early & the money is donated to charity). The lines didn't stop . . . it was a constant flow of people for almost 4 hours. Some people waited in line outside in the freezing cold (read: 20 degree) weather for almost an hour in a line that snaked around the building. Then once inside they waited for almost 40 minutes to get through the checkout line. The sale brought in over $70,000 for our club members and charity (the club keeps 10 - 30 % of the profits which goes back into the sale/club/charity).
While I was in sale land Tim & our friend Nick were working on my "living room conversion/family room to play room" project. They were able to get our TV hung over the fireplace (without any major injuries, disasters or f-bombs -- score!). So now we're in the process of getting everything in place so the conversion is all together before B&K come back home. I will try to post pictures of the finished project later this week.
So yeah -- WHEW was the best way to sum up this weekend.

In honor of Sydney & Carynne
Today would have been Sydney & Carynne's 6 month birthday, but instead Brook & Jake are celebrating their lives at their funeral.
In honor of their memory, we have chosen to wear pink (or red, in some cases for they guys) today. These sweet girls have touched so many lives. Please continue to keep them and their family in your throughs and prayers. And if you'd like to help out even more, please sign the Petition to Cure SMA, in the hopes that a cure can be found for this horrible disease. SMA is the number one genetic killer of children under the age of 2.
Here are some pics of us & our friends sporting our pink (check back later . . . I hope to have more pictures to share!):

No words
As a follow-up to my post yesterday, we learned late last night that little Sydney lost her battle as well and is now with her sister. Words cannot describe how deeply sad I am for Brook and Jake and their family. Would you please keep them in your prayers?

So PROUD!!!
Ok, here is another one I have been meaning to write about for a while, too (on a much happier note)! Speaking of said multiples group (see below), remember a while back I wrote about my friend Megan and her quest to raise money for breast cancer research?? Well I am so proud of Megan for so many reasons:
1. She is a wicked awesome mommy to Aiden & Brody.
2. She is a fabulous coach to her college women’s basketball team (they are ranked and everything – yay!).
3. She is in the process of moving & looking for a new job in the midst of doing #s 1 & 2
4. SHE SHAVED HER HEAD BECAUSE HER TEAM REACHED THEIR GOAL!!
Yep, you read that right . . . as promised, she let her team shave her head in center court because they reached their fund raising goals. She blogged about it here and posted pictures of the whole event – including her new super sexy fabulous hair do!
I have told her this a million time already, but I have such mad respect for what she did! I am so proud of her and think she is such a great example – to her team, her boys and to fellow moms like me. :-)
Way to go Megan!!

Devastated
This is a sad one. I have been meaning to write about this for some time, but now my entry will take on a totally different tone.
I’ve mentioned here a few times before that I very fortunate to belong to an amazing group of multiple mommies – many of which I have never met in real life (remember the Oprah blog??). In January, one of our fellow mommies learned the devastating news that her girls were suffering from a rare illness called Werdnig-Hoffman disease (you can read more about it here). Our group started a site to raise money to help Brook and her family with some of the medical costs and to be able to take the time needed off of work to spend whatever time remains with their sweet girls, Sydney & Carynne. As of yesterday we raised over $4000 and we were able to send a huge chunk of that to Brook last week, just in time to lift the family’s spirits a bit. Sadly, though, we learned that Carynne lost her battle yesterday; she would have been 6 months old this week.
I am beyond heart-broken for Brook and her family – I just could not imagine what they are going through. Brook started a blog and you can see pictures of her beautiful girls here. May I ask that you please keep them in your prayers? If you would like to help out, please click on the picture below and it should take you to the donation site. And please go hug & kiss your loved ones today . . . it shouldn’t take something like this to make us all realize how truly blessed we are.
Thanks.

Presenting B-Diddy
Funniest videos ever. . . B & K playing with one of their new b-day toys (thanks again to the Daniels clan -- I'm pretty sure this one was from them). I mentioned in my last post that Bennett likes to sing (and Tabasco likes to howl). I present to you, B-Diddy and T-bone:
And not to be outdone, Miss Kendylishious, trying her hand at this singing gig, too:
